FortiToken Mobile (FTM) is an application that generates One Time Passwords (OTPs) for your mobile device. It is compliant with the OATH standard and offers both event-based and time-based OTPs. FTM is the client component of Fortinet's robust solution for strong authentication, which is known for its high level of security, user-friendliness, and affordability.

FTM tokens can be deployed using FortiOS, FortiAuthenticator or FortiToken Cloud (2FA-as-a-Service) as the backend validation server. The application supports push notifications for approving or denying login attempts, providing an extra layer of security. Additionally, FTM is compatible with third-party tokens used by popular websites.

Privacy and control are essential features of FortiToken Mobile. The application does not have the ability to change settings on your phone, access your camera or microphone, view browser history, or remotely erase your device. It also requires your permission to send notifications or modify any settings. FortiToken Mobile only requests visibility to verify your operating system version for compatibility purposes. When you manually install FortiToken tokens or third-party tokens and perform token transfers, sensitive information like email addresses or token seeds may be entered.

Although FortiToken Mobile respects your privacy and does not make unauthorized changes, it has permission to perform specific operations to ensure its functionality:

• Access to the camera is necessary for scanning QR codes during token activation.
• TouchID/FaceID is used for app security purposes.
• Internet access is required for token activation and receiving push notifications.
• The "Send Feedback by Email" feature automatically populates the sender field.
• Internally sharing files between applications prepares attachments to be sent by email through "Send Feedback by Email."
• FortiToken must keep the phone awake during the upgrade of the internal database to prevent data corruption.
